American Dipper

They can be found around some mountain streams usually around water rapids. They cling to slippery moss and algae covered rocks as they search for small fish, fish eggs, aquatic insect larvae, and mollusks. They dip and dive, using their wings to sometimes fly under water. They are so fun to watch! Got some wonderful shots of this one as he dipped under the rapids for a second and was totally engulfed in a water case.
